Hi maureen5,
Thank you for your welcome post . No, we dont have Independence Day. Our 2 biggest patriotic days are Australia Day, and Anzac Day . We also have Remembrance Day but it is a minor celebration compared to Anzac Day .
A warm G'day to your Aussie husband from down under ! we are off to Melbourne for this Christmas holidays , then onto Tasmania ( Hobart ) returning to Melbourne to celebrate New Year .
