Hi all.
I ask anyone to send Reiki to my dog, Rocky. He is small white terrier mix. He is an ongoing skin problem that we can't seem to make progress with. The vet has tried all kinds of medicines, and alternative methods, while bringing some relief, are not helping him much. He is constantly itching and really needs some relief. He also has an eye problem, which I feel may be connected. My dog sends his warmest thanks.

Hey Redbird,
has he tried Lamb and rice dryfood? no canned unless it is lamb and rice as well? Our lab cannot have anything else BUT...it's worth a try...and yes ..I will send reiki for him....as a short relief...but, I do think the food will make a difference...terriers are sort of wiry hair aren't they......you may want to give it a try.....check out some pet sites....dog breeds and their 'usual' issues......lab's tend to have 'dander issues'...think about it?
nice to talk to you.....I've been away for a few days.......good to be home..Dee

Dee,
He's already on lamb and rice at the vet's direction. I've used EFT which did help a lot with his eyes, but I haven't been able to make a dent with his itching. So we just keep trying different things with him. We use enzymes, aloe, going down a long list. So I thought I'd see what Reiki could do for him. Any suggestions are welcome, so thank you.
We rescued him when his previous owner dumped him on the state highway. I get the idea that he is angry with himself over it. I have rescued dogs and cats, and it seems the dogs have a harder time bouncing back.

This may sound strange, but try a vinegar rinse. Dilute it with water, 1/3 vinegar to 2/3 water. Use distilled vinegar. If it is fungal in nature it will help to kill it. It will also kill bacteria. It may sting, so start on a small area to see the dog's reaction. Hope this helps.

Hello Redbird, im sorry to hear of your pets situation, have you tried aloevera from the plant itself, breakaway a piece and cut open apply the cooling gel from inside, its soothing and cooling properties will at least relieve poor rockys aggravation whilst you seek other avenues, maybe get a second opinion if you dont get some answers in the meantime.
i am asking for the reiki angels to send their pure untainted divine healing light, direct from source to flood rockys very being, with a cleansing flow of powerful Divine light/love. Gud blessi thig, soraya

Soraya,
Thanks very much. We've tried aloe juice, but not from the plant itself, so I will see if we can get our hands on one. Where we are at now is we are doing the vinegar every day. I think perhaps that and the prayers and Reiki are starting to make some difference. He is still scratching quite a bit, but not as much as before. He also use to cry a lot, and he's improving there too.
He's had baths, shots, pills, creams, and each time improves maybe a little bit then gets worse again, so I think the prescriptions were taking some shots at treating the symptoms and not the cause.
Thanks everyone for all of your helpful suggestions and for the continued prayers and Reiki. I will keep everyone informed in this thread so those sending prayers and Reiki will know what is happening with him. And we are just going to keep trying until this is cleared up for him.

hi again Redbird,
well, I am stumped.......I'm feeling maybe this dog has an issue that needs fixing instead......I just meditated and then got on line and read about your problem again....that was the first thing that popped into my head.......if you have ever watched Ceasar on the discovery channnel it could very well be this.
so, shall we try doing some serious "Reiki" sessions and see what comes about? He can't go on like this........my thinking is if these 'topical' things being done and these food things being done give him no relief then emotional would be the next step....since we can't communicate with him the EFT may be difficult....but, animals respond to Reiki really well and I think it is worth a try. let me know......I will start tomorrow if you'd like......I am going out for the evening and won't be able to start till then.....?
blessings....Dee

Hello Dee and thanks SO much. Any and all Reiki is appreciated! And I do believe you are right about him having issues as he was abandoned on a highway.

Red Bird,
How is your dog doing? Is the vinegar helping? I have been really trying to find some answers for this, and have come up empty. I am still praying for the dogs relief of suffering from this ailment.

Q Lilly,
Thank you so much for your prayers and concerns for my dog. It is very much appreciated. I can say what has happened in the past week. As he seemed to have some improvement. Then we stopped the vinegar, and it was all downhill. He was going crazy all over again. So we started it again. Now, he's still scratching, but not like earlier. So it looks like the vinegar is a factor in giving him some relief, and I am very grateful for your input.
It's wonderful to be able to see him sleep and have moments where he can rest. I'm hoping with a little time the vinegar can bring more relief. We're also still using aloe juice.
Thanks again, Q Lily. We've been through so many medications with him, and he's been through so much. I will keep you posted if we see further improvement.

Morning Redbird,
Dee here....can I ask you, did the vet say anything to you about alergies with your dog? A friend of mine had this problem with her pet....turns out the dog had 'hot' spots and would scratch and bite till his skin was raw....seemed he had allergies to grass , of all things, and when they treated him he healed and has done great since.
I cannot understand why ANY vet would not 'find' out and heal the problem.....they can't just let an animal continue to go through this....or they shouldn't be a vet !
there has to be a way to heal him completely. he can't just deal with this for the rest of his life the poor thing....
blessings.....Dee

Hi Dee,
I'll have to check back to see what the allergy discussion was. There's been so many things to juggle, it's hard to keep track. Thanks for the tip. Who would think, a grass allergy? Certainly something to look into, and I appreciate it. And thanks so much for your concern, continued prayers and Reiki for my dog.
Just to clear it up, the vet is one of the good guys in the story. He's treated many of my animals over the years and is as nice a fellow as anyone could know. Besides his practice being a Godsend, I do not know what we would have done without him. He has handled his share of middle of the night emergencies for us. I could not do justice in this short space to say enough good things about him as a person of medicine or as a good human being. : )

| I also have a very itchy dog. Here is my advice. Make sure your dog food is soy free and preferably corn free also. Try adding organic fish oil to her food. Use only natural cleaning products such as vinegar. Avoid anything with organ meats such as liver treats, chicken gizzards, etc. Organ meats filter toxins from the body so when they are given as treats the dog gets more toxins. You've probably already tried Benedryl, but I give Caroline one every night (with my vet's blessing). My dog is not itch free, but this seems to help and she has no hot spots. Good luck to you both.
