I just recently took Reiki I and for the past few weeks I have been extremely exhausted. ALL I want to do is sleep. THough not every time I sleep do I dream. Some days I'll wake up aching or an arm is sore as if I was doing something with it all day for it to be excruciatingly painful.
Is this normal?
I do work and go to the gym on a schedule so I am not JUST sleeping lol though the more I read or open myself I notice the more sleep I crave... Is that unusual?

welcome bubble....very nice to meet you. Congrats on your reiki attunement!!! It's an awesome feeling isn't it??? (although you aren't feeling so awesome right now are you?)
too be honest...I immediately felt that the soreness you are feeling 'is' from working out..? what's your gut feeling? your arm pain does not seem to be from the reiki though...did you do something during your workout? sounds more like a bursitis? or shoulder? lift too much weight? It is SO normal to be quite exhausted even after an attunement. some people actually go so far as to feel quite 'flu like' or as if having a really bad cold...and it is quite normal....your body is just finally detoxing many things. it's clearing itself out..you could feel these effects for a few weeks. For some people it can be quite extreme. Call on Raphael for some help to get you through the day...some extra strength...and those reiki guides as well....Do you do a daily reiki treatment on yourself every day? (your reiki teacher should be telling you these things.?..In fact a reiki teacher should also be available to you for any questions you may have. Don't ever be hesitant to call her and ask her things that went on during your attunement or after. You can always ask us though too!
please explain what you mean when you say you read or open yourself you seem to crave more sleep?
this is a good time for you to begin to clear your chakra's every morning before you start your day. and do a white light of protection around you before you leave your home, always. (that is something everyone would benefit from doing.)
Again, congrats! I did my Level I & II on the same day which was wonderful..do you think you will do the next level soon? It was about a year after the I and II that I went for the Master and it was so humbling and awesome...something you never ever take for granted and are always so thankful for. I feel like I've been blessed some how....I'm so glad this is becoming more open and out there ...some day everyone will be 'attuned'???? hope so!

to answer your questions;
Yes it is an amazing feeling, especially after I got my first attunements I realized why I was unable to continue massage therapy. The pain from an individual would radiate throughout my arms locking them up. Now from not having any prior knowledge of WHAT I would experience when I was giving a treatment the doctors all thought it was a heart condition. (So it was very nice to know, and certainly a MIND BLOWING EXPERIENCE, learning about it)
Sadly I am not feeling good, my teacher did inform me of the detox and i have read it a few times on numerous websites and in books i've read. I just never knew it was going to be so extreme. It does feel like a cold that comes in waves and the nights I have dreams I am usually more exhausted then I was the day before.
You might be right about working out because I was doing a new position though how it had only really hit one shoulder was odd.. I've never had that. It was the shoulder in the front and then when my trainer tried working it out... (I heard how what he was doing was wrong, and i swear I remember my teachers STRESSING NOT to do what he did because it was an endangerment spot. ) He did irritate it more to where it shot down to my elbow after that.
I haven't been doing a Reiki treatment on myself (i wont lie) though I have been meditating for sometime quite a bit every night.
See I love my reiki teacher and she has a lot of great advice but the last time I saw her I just had this weird feeling about her. Almost to be cautious (for some reason) I am having a hard time letting it go and even when I call her I get a call back hours later and I feel as if Im bugging her. I can hear it in her voice. I want this though I don't want to be a bother to gain it.

Hello again bubble..........I just read how when you are having issues with the massage therapy....this is not good hon...and...your teacher should have taught you about protecting yourself!!! The person you are doing reiki on or massaging should 'never' affect 'you'...ever! Go back to your manuals and please read about protection...and how at the end of a reiki treatment to rid any energies you may have picked up from a client....when you are doing massage on someone you will automatically feel the reiki flow...but never should you pick up their issues.
I don't know what is up with your teacher? She sounds a bit 'off' to me? SO, I don't think asking her anything would be good at this time....there are a couple of us in here who do reiki and we are both Masters (which is the teaching level) so we should be able to answer any questions you have...please know you are not alone! I don't want to see this turn into a bad experience for you...Reiki is an awesome gift from the Universe and anyone who teaches it and doesn't take her students under his/her wing just sounds shady to me! Please please please feel free to ask 'any' questions to me or Spiritdancer...we will help in any way we can....

you may want to think about doing reiki on yourself every day? It is such an energy boost for one..and it heals on so many levels...there are even cd's out there that will take you through all the energy centers plus with your self treatments......Marsha Burack? spelling I'm not sure of but I have her cd and use to use it daily....if you want more info let me know?

Bubbles trust your intuition about your teacher. I have found out in my life by listening to my inner self it was for the best. I think it is our guardian angels helping us.
Dee has helped me a lot since I joined the forum and she has lots of wisdom and knowledge.

Greetings Bubbblez0504, 7AngelReikiMaster here. I hope all is well and am sorry I didn't see this post sooner but I too am available to lend any help or direction you feel to ask for. A Reiki Master Teacher that you have paid or not (trade of some sort is pay) should always be welcoming to your concerns or questions for that is how they themselves grow and learn also. I learn from my students every time. Everyone has different experiences and we all grow from them so sharing and asking is a must in the process of our life. I hope you do go with your GUT feeling on this and on all issues with your life. You can't go wrong trusting your GUT. It is in fact your INNER GUIDANCE..we all need to listen to ours. Daily Reiki on yourself is a must but it doesn't have to be long sessions. As Reiki will go where you need it all you need do is place your two hands down on your body anywhere..you don't always have to do chakra positions thou that is BEST. You can just place your two hands down on you lap with your feet straight not crossed or not crossing your arms. As for your trainer at the gym..I have seen many hurt people under their trainers guidance. You would wonder where they got their training and are they really certified for that fact. Well hope you don't allow anymore hurt on your person after that. As a Licensed Massage Therapist I find that the more I do massages the better I become in my own Spiritual self as Healing happens everytime I massage. I myself have never taken on to my notice any of my clients issues or pains as Reiki has always Protected me. If I have felt the clients area of pain in me it was to give me the way to help the client as not everything is taught in school. In my Massage Practice as in my Reiki Practice I learn from my clients. Most of my massage clients just get on the table and know I will get to all the areas of concern whether they tell me or not and each time they are amazed I know. I am Blessed by each one as I am Honored to Help any way I can and I think they feel that in me. Welcome to the Beautiful Loving journey of Reiki and the Beauty it will add to your massage work.

PS..this Angel Heart is Reiki Charged with Healing and you can copy it and even put it on your cell phone if you like..all you need do for the Healing is put yourself in the Angels Heart and Reiki will Heal what you need.
