It's July, hot, lazy summer days... barbecues, sandals, ice cream.... No such luck for us English folk!! In true British style it's raining buckets. I've decided that instead of being annoyed that I can't enjoy my summer embracing the sunshine I'm going embrace the rain instead. Without it we wouldn't be here, the plants wouldn't grow, the sea wouldn't be there for us to bathe in when it IS sunny etc etc so... Thank God for the rain!!!! I'm now off to get my wellies on & jump in puddles.

being from missouri I am familiar with what one of our favorite sons sayings and I can confirm it. Samuel Clemens aka Mark Twain is reported to have said about missouri's weather "If you don't like the weather just wait fifteen minutes."
wellies must be galoshes. Huh

Paul, that Mark Twain quote sounds like it could've been spoken about the NE of England, I'm sure Emma will agree!
I found a great book the other day called the pig with 6 legs Dana, it's about cloud formations & things people have seen in them. you should google it, it's great!

p.s I jumped in loads of puddles on my walk, enough for everyone on here, so much fun!

Tallulah,
I am going to send you and Emma some gorgeous California Sunshine. It's 64 degrees here, the sun is out, the sky is blue with a few puffy marshmallow clouds in the sky.
Some California sunshine will be just the thing for you to wear your lovely summer sandals and have some friends over for a BBQ (cheeseburgers and hot dogs -yum-yum). Nothing like eating creamy ice cream on a warm summers day
Of course I myself love the rainy season in California. I love to lay on the couch with a nice cup of hot coffee or hot choclolate all snuggled underneath my favorite blankie watching the rain just pouring down. Oh, it's a beautiful sight indeed.

I'm in Missouri too...It's around 90 degrees, but we've had lots and lots of rain...I really love rain, but some have had "way too much."
I'm learning to just "love it all." I think it would be quite boring to live where the weather was very predictable My husband is from Australia, and he loves the "excitement of our weather."

Julie thank you!!! California sunshine is just what we need. I've been trying to embrace the rain over the past few days but now it's been pouring for 3 days almost solid & I'm not amused!
Which part of California do you live in? I've always wanted to visit, especially San Fran, it looks amazing

Maureen you're right, it would be boring to live somewhere with predictable weather, but it would be sooo much easier to know what to wear in the mornings!

Hi Talulah,
Sorry for not responding sooner to your question. I live in Redwood City which is in the San Fran bay area.
San Francisco is truly a beautiful city with lots of fun things to see and do. The hills that surround the San Fran bay area are breath taking. The weather is always gorgeous 9 months out of the year (70 - 75 degrees, sunny with a slight breeze and no humidity). I wouldn't want to live anywhere else in the U.S.
Divine Blessings To You,
Julie
